Gavin serves as a law clerk for Johnston & Brouillard, P.A. He began this position in September 2025. He supports the firm’s attorneys by conducting legal research, drafting and editing documents, and assisting with a variety of other legal matters.
Gavin is a proud native of Cando, ND, a small town located in the north-central region of the state. After graduating from high school, he attended Concordia College – Moorhead, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Finance with a minor in Psychology. He was also a member of the Cobber baseball team, recognized as a Larson Scholar in the Offutt School of Business, and participated in mock trial.
Gavin then chose to return to his home state for law school and is in the process of obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law. While in law school, he has gained practical experience clerking for several firms, primarily involved in estate planning, real estate law, business law, and civil litigation.
Further, Gavin serves as a teaching assistant for UND School of Law’s first-year legal research and writing program, sits on the board of the Sports Law Student Association, and plays on the law school hockey team. Gavin is working as a law clerk during his final year of law school and will join the firm as an attorney following graduation and subsequent passage of the bar exam.
Outside of school and work, Gavin enjoys playing golf, following sports – especially Vikings football and Twins baseball – going to the lake, and spending quality time with his wife, Abby, as well as other family and friends.
